Modem ring driver II for Windows 98/Me - ThinkPad 1400, 1500 (2621/2651)

This package provides the Modem Ring driver for Windows 98-Me users. The Modem Ring driver enables or updates the following functions:
- When a Modem PC Card is inserted into the system, the dial tone can be enabled (heard) with the system buzzer.
- When a Modem PC Card is inserted into the system, the ''resume on incoming call'' feature can be supported. (This feature is not supported by Windows 98 if PC Card Modem is used and this driver is not installed.)
Only the following Machine Types and Models are supported:
- ThinkPad i Series 1400:
2621 - 422, 429, 442, 482, 483, 486, 489, 49x, 4Ex, 4Fx, 4Gx
- ThinkPad i Series 1500:
2651 - 542, 549, 54G, 562, 569, 56G, 592, 5FF
Note:
- Your machine type and model number can be found on the bottom of the unit next to the bar code label.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

NOTE : This driver will automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, and Windows 2000.

I. Summary of changes

II. Installation instructions
- Start Windows 98/Me.
- Extract the Modem Ring package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start then click Run.
- In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\MODEMRNG\SETUP.EXE to install the modem ring driver. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead..
- Click Next to continue with the setup program.
- Follow the procedure to complete the installation.
- Restart the system for the driver to be effective.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Start Windows 98.
- Click Start, then select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Open the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
- Move the scrollbar on the software list to find Modem Ring x.xx. The program name has the version number (x.xx) included.
