This package provides the Modem driver for Microsoft Windows 95-98-NT 4.0.
The Modem driver enables or updates the Modem function of the following ThinkPad system:
- ThinkPad 240 (with Internal Modem)
- ThinkPad 240X (with Internal Modem)
This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

I. Summary of changes
version 5.62Q
- (New) Initial release for ThinkPad 240X.
- (New) Support for ThinkPad 240 (added).
- (Fix) (For ThinkPad 240 only) The system sometimes hangs with Blue Screen during modem connection under Windows NT 4.0.
II. Installation instructions
- Overwrite Install or Uninstall -
- Start Windows 95/98/NT 4.0.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, click Run.
- Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\LTREMOVE.EXE in the Open box and click Yes .
- Follow the instructions. The system will restart.
- If overwrite installation, follow the steps in ( Clean Install ) section described below.
- Clean Install -
- Start Windows 95/98/NT 4.0.
- If you have not already, extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, point to Run.
- Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click Next.
- Follow the instructions, and restart the system.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Select Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, then click Hyper Terminal.
- Double-click the Hyper Terminal icon.
- Type any name, and click OK.
- Choose Lucent modem, then click Cancel .
- Type ati3, and press the Enter key. The version will be displayed.
