This package provides the Ethernet driver for Microsoft Windows 2000 users.
This release supports the following system:
- ThinkPad i Series 1200 Machine type 1161 - 21x, 23x, 25x, 26x, 45N, 65N, RR5, RR6, RR7, RR8, WPM (Ethernet Models only)
- ThinkPad i Series 1300 Machine type 1171 - 310, 320, 330, 337, 33F, 340, 370, 377, 37F, NMU, RRA, RR6, RR7, RR8, RR9, VC1, VC2 (Ethernet Models only)
- ThinkPad 130 Machine type 1171 - 334, 335, 374, 375 (Ethernet Models only)
NOTES:
- Your machine type is located on the bottom of your system, just above the bar code symbol.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 98 and Microsoft Windows 2000.

I. Summary of changes
Version 3.6

II. Windows 2000 Installation instructions
- Start Windows 2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System icon.
- Click the Hardware tab at the top of the System Properties window.
- Click the Device Manager button.
- Double-click Network Adapters in the list.
- Right-click Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100) and select Properties .
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click the Update Driver button.
- Click the Next button.
- Click Display a list of the known drivers for this device, so you can choose a specific driver.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Have Disk button.
- Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ETHERNET.
- Click the OK button.
- Click Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100) in the list.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Next button
- Click the Finish button
- Restart the system for the driver to be effective.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Start Windows 2000.
- Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System icon.
- Click the Hardware tab at the top of the System Properties window.
- Click the Device Manager button.
- Expand the Network adapters section.
- Select Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100).
- Right-click Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100) and select Properties .
- Click the Driver Tab.
- Click the Driver File details button.
- Highlight the file C:\WINNT\System32\DRIVERS\e100bnt5.sys.
- File version will be displayed at File version:. Package release version and File version relationship is as below:
