This package provides the modem driver for Microsoft Windows Me. This package enables or updates the modem function of the following ThinkPad computers:
- ThinkPad i Series 1200 Machine type 1161 - 21x, 23x, 25x, 26x, 45N, 65N, RR5, RR6, RR7, RR8, WPM
- ThinkPad i Series 1300 Machine type 1171 - 310, 320, 330, 337, 33F, 340, 370, 377, 37F, NMU, RRA, RR6, RR7, RR8, RR9, VC1, VC2
- ThinkPad 130 Machine type 1171 - 334, 335, 374, 375
NOTE:
- If the audio driver has not been installed on the system, install the audio driver prior to the modem driver.
- Your machine type is located on the bottom of your system, just above the bar code symbol.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows Me

I. Summary of changes

II. Installation instructions
NOTE: If the audio driver has not been installed on the system, install the audio driver prior to the modem driver.
- Start Windows Me.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- Type C:\DRIVERS\W9x\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click the OK button.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Restart the system for the driver to take effect.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Start Windows Me.
- Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Open the System icon
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Expand the Modem section.
- Select Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR and click Properties .
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click the Driver File Details button.
- Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\LTSMVCD.VXD. The file has the version number embedded. For example:
