II. Installation instructions

1. Start Windows 2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
   
2. Extract the modem drivers onto the hard drive.
   
3. Click Start then click Run.
   
4. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM\SETUP to install the modem drivers. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
   
5. Click OK to continue with the setup program.
   
6. Follow the setup program.
   
7. Restart the system for the driver to be effective.

III. Uninstall instructions

1. Start Windows 2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
   
2. Extract the modem drivers onto the hard drive.
   
3. Click Start -> Run.
   
4. Type in C:\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM\LTREMOVE.EXE in the Open box. Then click OK button.
   
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
   
6. Restart the system for all of the changes to take effect.

IV. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows 2000.
   
2. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
   
3. Open the System icon.
   
4. Click the Hardware tab. |
   
5. Click the Device Manager button.
   
6. Expand the Modem section
   
7. Double click Lucent Win Modem.
   
8. Click the Driver tab
   
9. Click the Driver Details button.
   
10. Highlight the file C:\WINNT\System32\DRIVERS\ltmdmnt.sys. The file has the version number embedded. For example: The version is displayed as File version: 5.62.
