II. Installation instructions
Note: If the audio driver has not been installed on the system, install the audio driver prior to the modem driver.

1. Start Windows Me.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, then clck Run.
4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WME\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click the OK button.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Restart the system for the driver to be effective.

UNATTENDED INSTALLATION: If you prefer unattended installation, use SETUP.EXE -S command at step 4.

III. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows Me.
2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Open the System icon.
4. Click the Device Manager tab.
5. Expand the Modem section.
6. Select Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR and click Properties.
7. Click the Driver tab.
8. Click the Driver File Details button.
9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\LTSMVCD.VXD. The file has the version number embedded.
   For example:
   The version is displayed as File version: RC 88 3.1.66 03/14/2000 12:35:13 Where the version is 3.1.66.
