Modem driver II for Windows 2000 - ThinkPad 1200, 1300
Applicable countries and regions
This package provides the modem driver for Microsoft Windows 2000 users. This package enables or updates the modem function of the following ThinkPad computers:

- ThinkPad i Series 1200 Machine Type
1161 - 11x, 41x, 46N, 51x, 56N, 61x, 66N, 71x, 91x
- ThinkPad i Series 1300 Machine Type
1171 - 2AU, 21U, 61F, 61G, 61M, 61U, 71U, 81G, 81M, 91F, 91U
- ThinkPad 130 1171 - 51J, 61J, 71J, 81J

This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

I. Summary of changes

II. Installation instructions
NOTE: If the audio driver has not been installed on the system, install the audio driver prior to the modem driver.

  1. Start Windows 2000 and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, then clck Run.
  4. Type C:\DRIVERS\W2K\MODEM\LTSETUP.EXE in the Open box and click the OK button.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Restart the system for the driver to be effective.

UNATTENDED INSTALLATION: If you prefer unattended installation, use LTSETUP.EXE -S command at step 4.

III. Determining which version is installed

  1. Start Windows 2000.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the System icon.
  4. Click the Hardware tab at the top of the System Properties window.
  5. Click the Device Manager button.
  6. Expand the Modem section.
  7. Select Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR.
  8. Right-click Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR and select Properties.
  9. Click the Driver tab.
  10. Then it will show the version number.
