DVD-Video player upgrade for Windows 95/98/2000 - ThinkPad 390/E/X, 172x

The accompanying DVD-Video Player Upgrade package can update the DVD-Video Player feature in the ThinkPad computer.
The following models with the DVD-ROM Drive option are supported:
- ThinkPad 390, 390E, 390X
- ThinkPad i Series 1720, 1721, 1781
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.
Limitation:
This update should not be used if playing DVD movies through the IBM Portable Drive bay (connected to the system by USB or PC Card connector). Movies will not play properly if this upgrade is used with such a configuration. |

NOTE : This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Me, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

- (New) Support for ThinkPad 390, 390E, 390X and i Series 1720, 1721, 1781
- (New) Support for DVDExpress upgrade modules.
- (New) (ThinkPad 390E, 390X and i Series 1781 only) Support for TV-out (Video-out) function on Windows 2000.
II. Installation instructions
Note:
- Use this driver only for ThinkPad systems with Mediamatics DVDExpress installed.
- This package can not be installed without the Mediamatics DVDExpress DVD-Video player installed in the system. This package is for upgrade purpose only.
- (ThinkPad 390E with Windows 2000) Use the BIOS version R01_C4 or later. Use Display Driver for Windows 2000 version 6.03.02Q or later.
- (ThinkPad 390X and i Series 1781 on Windows 2000) Use the BIOS version isb047ww or later. Use Display Driver for Windows 2000 version 6.03.02Q or later.
- Verify that the DVD-ROM drive is installed in your computer. If the DVD drive is not installed, install it before continuing.
- Start Windows 95/98/2000. Log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator for Windows 2000.
- Extract the upgrade package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start , then click Run .
- Type in C:\DRIVERS\WIN\DVD\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click OK .
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Run DVD-Video Player (DVDExpress) .
- Click the DVD Options button which is at the bottom left corner of the DVD-Video Player.
- A DVD Options window appears. BUILD version: indicates the version number.
