II. Installation instructions

1. Start Windows.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
4. Double-click the System icon.
5. Click the Device Manager tab at the top of the System Properties window.
6. Double click Other devices in the list.
7. Click IBM Corporation-IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card.
8. Click Properties.
9. Click the General tab.
10. Click Reinstall Driver.
11. Click Specify the location of the driver (Advanced).
12. Click Next.
13. Click Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now. (Recommended).
14. Click Next.
15. Click Specify a location;, and type C:\DRIVERS\WME\WIRELESS.
16. Click Next.
17. Click Next.
18. Click Finish.
19. Restart the system.

III. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Open the System icon.
4. Click the Device Manager tab.
5. Expand the Network section.
6. Double-click IBM High Rate Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card.
7. Click Driver.
8. Click Driver File details.
9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WLIBM48.sys. The file has the version number embedded.
   
   For example: The file version is displayed as File version: 1.6.21.0
