II. Installation instructions

1. Start Windows.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
4. Double-click the System icon.
5. Click the Hardware tab at the top of the System Properties window.
6. Click Device Manager.
7. Double-click Other devices in the list.
8. Double-click IBM Corporation IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card.
9. Click General.
10. Click Reinstall Driver.
11. Click Next.
12. Click Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now. (Recommended).
13. Click Next.
14. Click Specify a location.
15. Click Next.
16. Navigate to where the package is extracted, and press OK.
17. Click Next.
18. If the Digital Signature Not Found message appears, click Yes.
19. Click Finish.
20. Restart the system.

III. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Open the System icon.
4. Click the Hardware tab at the top of the System Properties window.
5. Click Device Manager.
6. Expand the Network section.
7. Double-click IBM High Rate Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card.
8. Click the Driver tab.
9. Click the Driver File details button.
10. Highlight the file C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVEERS\WLIBM48.sys. The file has the version number embedded.
    
    For example: the file version is displayed as File version: 1.6.21.0.
