CardBus Controller driver for Windows 98SE/Me - ThinkPad 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500(2621)

This package provides the CardBus Controller Driver for Microsoft Windows 98SE/Me users. This package updates the CardBus Controler function of the
following ThinkPad computers:

- i Series 1400:
Type 2621 - 42* (Except 422, 429), 43*, 44* (Except 442), 46*, 48* (Except 482, 486, 489), 4A*, 4B*, 4C*, RR3, RR4, RR5
- i Series 1500:
Type 2621 - 540, 541, 547, 548, 560, 567
- ThinkPad i Series 1200
- ThinkPad i Series 1300

NOTE:
- Your machine type is located on the bottom of your system, just above the bar code symbol.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

I. Summary of changes
version 4.90.3000(Windows Me)/4.10.2222(Windows 98SE)

  • (Fix) Some 3.3V PC cards may not work.

II. Installation instructions

Windows Me
Update Installation

  1. Start Windows Me.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, then clck Run.
  4. Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\O2SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click OK.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Restart the system.
  7. If the Add New hardware Wizard window opens, select Specify the location then click the Next button.
  8. Select Search for the... then click Specify a location: and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\WINME in the box.
  9. Click Next then click Next.
  10. Click Next then click Finish.
  11. Click Yes for the driver to take effect.

Clean Installation

  1. Start Windows Me.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  4. Open the System icon.
  5. Click the Device Manager tab.
  6. Expand the PCMCIA socket section.
  7. Select O2Micro OZ6812/6912 CardBus Controller then click Remove.
  8. Click Remove then click OK.
  9. Click Refresh.
  10. Add New hardware Wizard window opens, select Specify the location then click the Next button.
  11. Select Search for the... then select Specify a location: and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\WINME in the box.
  12. Click Next then click Next.
  13. Click Next then click Finish.
  14. Click Yes for the driver to take effect.

Windows 98SE
Update Installation

  1. Start Windows 98SE.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, then clck Run.
  4. Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\O2SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click OK.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Restart the system.
  7. If Add New hardware Wizard window opens, select Specify the location then click the Next button.
  8. Select Search for the... then click Specify a location: and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\WIN98SE in the box.
  9. Click Next then click Next.
  10. Click Next then click Finish.
  11. Click Yes for the driver to take effect.

Clean Installation

  1. Start Windows 98SE.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  4. Open the System icon
  5. Click the Device Manager tab.
  6. Expand the PCMCIA socket section.
  7. Select O2Micro OZ6812/6912 CardBus Controller then click Remove.
  8. Click Remove then click OK.
  9. Click Refresh.
  10. The Add New hardware Wizard window opens, select Specify the location then click the Next button.
  11. Select Search for the... then select Specify a location: and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\WIN98SE in the box.
  12. Click Next then click Next.
  13. Click Next then click Finish.
  14. Click Yes for the driver to take effect.

III. Determining which version is installed

  1. Start Windows 98SE/Me.
  2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Open the System icon
  4. Click the Device Manager tab.
  5. Expand the PCMCIA socket section.
  6. Select O2Micro OZ6812/6912 CardBus Controller and click Properties.
  7. Click the Driver tab.
  8. Click the Driver File Details button.
  9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CBSSO2.VXD. The file has the version number embedded.
