Ethernet driver III for Windows 98/Me - ThinkPad 1200, 1300

This package provides the Ethernet driver for Microsoft Windows Me users.

This release supports the following systems:

- ThinkPad i Series 1200 Machine type 1161 - 12x, 42x, 62x, 92x , 72x, 47N, 57N, 67N
- ThinkPad i Series 1300 Machine type 1171 - 5Wx, 7Wx, 6Lx, 9Lx, 5BU
- ThinkPad 130 Machine type 1171 - 52J, 62J, 72J, 82J

This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

II. Windows 98/Me Installation instructions
NOTE: If you receive a message of e100b.cat missing during the installation, skip this file and continue the installation.

  1. Start Windows 98 or Windows Me.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  4. Double-click the System icon.
  5. Click the Device Manager tab at the top of the System Properties window.
  6. Double-click Network Adapters in the list.
  7. Click Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100).
  8. Click the Properties button.
  9. Click the Driver tab.
  10. Click the Update Driver button.
  11. Click the Next button on the Update Device Driver Wizard window.
  12. Click Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want.
  13. Click the Next button.
  14. Click the Have Disk button.
  15. Type C:\DRIVERS\WME\ETHERNET.
  16. Click the OK button.
  17. Click Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100).
  18. Click the OK button.
  19. Click the Next button.
  20. Click the Finish button.
  21. Click the YES button and restart the system for the driver to be effective.

III. Determining which version is installed

  1. Start Windows 98 or Windows Me.
  2. Click Start, slect Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click the System Icon.
  4. Click the Device Manager tab.
  5. Expand the Network adapter section.
  6. Double-click the Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100).
  7. Click the Driver tab.
  8. Click the Driver File details button.
  9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\E100BNT5.SYS. The file has the File version number embedded. Package release version and File version relationship is as below:
