This package provides Intel SpeedStep Technology Applet.
SpeedStep is a mobile technology that allows an enabled CPU to operate in multiple performance states.
This package enables or updates the applet programs of the following ThinkPad computers:
- ThinkPad i Series 1200(1161 - 43*, 73*, 93*, 94*, 96*)(only for SpeedStep Models)
- ThinkPad i Series 1300(1171 - 4**, 6MU, 8MU, 9MU)(only for SpeedStep Models)
- ThinkPad i Series 1300(1171 - 5CU, 5X*, 6XU, 7XG, 8XU, 9X*)(only for SpeedStep Models) (1)

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Me, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

I. Summary of changes

II. Installation instructions
NOTE: Please uninstall any prior version and reboot the system before installing this version.
- Start Windows 98/Me/2000 or for Windows 2000 only, log in to Windows 2000 with a User ID with administrative privileges.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- Type [Program Path]\SETUP and click OK.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
III. Determining which version is installed
Method 1
If the original extracted files are in the same directory as SETUP.EXE, please find the DISKSU.VER file. The file contents indicates the version.
Method 2
Check the date stamp of the PRPCUI.DLL file.
