PCMCIA driver II for Windows 98/Me - ThinkPad 1400, 1500
|

This package provides the CardBus controller driver for Windows 98/Me users.
This package updates the CardBus controller function of the following ThinkPad computers:
- ThinkPad i Series 1400 2611 - 40x, 412, 43x(Except 434, 435), 452, 456, 459, 47x, 49x - ThinkPad i Series 1500 2611 - 512, 552, RR8, RR9

NOTE: - Your machine type is located on the bottom o f your system, just above the bar code symbol.

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard disk drive. It will only extract under Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Me, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

I. Summary of changes

- (Fix) Some 3.3V PC cards may not work.
II. Installation instructions
Windows Me - Update Installation
- Start Windows Me.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\O2SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click OK.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Restart the system.
- If the Add New hardware Wizard window opens, select Specify the location then click Next.
- Select Search for the... then click Specify a location: and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\WINME in the box.
- Click Next then click Next.
- Click Next then click Finish.
- Click Yes for the driver to take effect.
Windows Me - Clean Installation
- Start Windows Me.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Open the System icon.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Expand the PCMCIA socket section.
- Select O2Micro OZ6812/6912 CardBus Controller then click Remove.
- Click Remove then click OK.
- Click Refresh.
- The Add New Hardware wizard window will open, select Specify the location then click Next.
- Select Search for the... then select Specify a location: and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\WINME in the box.
- Click Next then click Next.
- Click Next then click Finish.
- Click Yes for the driver to take effect.
Windows 98 - Update Installation
- Start Windows 98.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\O2SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click OK.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Restart the system.
- If Add New hardware Wizard window opens, click Next.
- Select Search for the... then click Next. Check only on Specify a location and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\WIN98 in the box.
- Click Next then click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Click Yes for the driver to take effect.
Windows 98 - Clean Installation
- Start Windows 98.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double click on System.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Expand the PCMCIA socket section.
- Select Generic CardBus Controller, then click Remove.
- Click Remove from all configurations then click OK.
- Click Refresh.
- The Add New Hardware wizard window opens, click Next.
- Select Search for the... then click the Next button. Check only on Specify a location and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\PCCARD\WIN98 in the box.
- Click Next then click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Click Yes for the driver to take effect.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Start Windows 98/Me.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click on System.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Expand the PCMCIA socket section.
- Select O2Micro OZ6812 CardBus Controller and click Properties.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click Driver File Details.
- Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CBSSO2.VXD. The file has the version number embedded.
