During the installation of Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) on a system with an Rapid Keyboard III attached, the user may get the following popup error, "SKSMAILD.EXE entry point not found in the dll library MSOERT2.DLL".
Any system using a Rapid Access Keyboard III with its software installed
Uninstall the Rapid Access Keyboard III software before installing Windows XP SP2. There are two ways a user can uninstall the software. First, go to the task bar, right click the Rapid Keyboard icon, and then select [Unload]. Second, go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and uninstall the software.
Once the Rapid Access Keyboard III software is uninstalled, the Windows XP SP2 installation can be restarted. Once Windows XP SP2 has been installed, reinstall the Rapid Access Keyboard III software.
The Rapid Access Keyboard III software causes the error message, "SKSMAILD.EXE", if a Rapid Access Keyboard III is attached to the system. The Windows XP SP2 installation tries to make changes that interfere with the keyboard software that is already installed.
