Installation instructions

To determine if you should update the utility programs, refer to the "Summary of changes" section.


Installing the driver
  1. Logon to Windows with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract this package by double-clicking the downloaded file.
    The default extract location is C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\WLLANBCM
  3. Click Start.
  4. Click Run.
  5. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2 above, and click OK.
  6. The device driver wizard will be launched.
  7. When prompted, click Next.
  8. When prompted to restart your system, click Yes and then click Finish.

Unattended install
This procedure is intended for system administrator use only.
  1. Logon to Windows with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract this package by double-clicking the downloaded file.
    The default extract location is C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\WLLANBCM
  3. From a command prompt, navigate to the driver location.
  4. Type "SETUP.EXE -S" and press Enter.

Uninstalling the driver
  1. Logon to Windows with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  3. In the Control Panel window, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Select Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter.
  5. Click Remove.
  6. When prompted, click Yes.
  7. When prompted to restart your system, click Yes and then click Finish.

Determining which version is installed
  1. Right click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  3. Click the + sign in front of the Network adapters.
  4. Double-click Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter
  5. Click the Driver tab, and the driver version will be displayed.
