The Lenovo USB Fingerprint Reader (41U3167) offers:
- Small size ideal for travel
- "Swipe" style fingerprint reader
- A one-foot cable and a six-foot cable are included for use in a variety of environments

The Lenovo USB Fingerprint Reader is supported on PCs with a USB port.
The full functionality of this product is only available on notebooks and desktop systems that have a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security co-processor and Client Security Software (CSS). To determine if your system has the TPM processor do the following:
- Enter your systems BIOS setup by pressing F1 after powering on your system
- Once in the setup menu select the "Security" option
- If your system has the TPM chip there will be a sub-menu that reads "IBM Security chip" or "Security chip"; you can then install the CSS package supplied with the Fingerprint Reader
