This package installs the software (Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II) to enable the following devices. - ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate - Thinkpad Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate
However, some models do not support Bluetooth 2.1 due to a hardware restriction.
Supported ThinkPad systems: - L410, L510 - R400, R500 - SL300, SL400, SL400c, SL410, SL500, SL500c, SL510 - T400, T400s(*2), T500 - W500, W700(*2), W700ds(*2) - X200, X200s, X200 Tablet(*2) - X300(*1), X301
Supported Operating Systems: - Microsoft Windows 7 32-bit, 64-bit (*2) - Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit, 64-bit
Note: - *1: Does not work as Bluetooth 2.1 (Bluetooth 2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate, 3Mbps), but works as Bluetooth 1.2 (1Mbps). - *2: ThinkPad W700, W700ds support the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Professional edition only. - *2: ThinkPad T400s multi-touch models and X200 Tablet do not support Windows 7 Home Basic edition. |

Notes:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
- If ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software is running on your ThinkPad computer, uninstall it before installing this version.
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
[Downloading file]
- Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
- Choose the directory you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
[Extracting files]
- Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
- Press Fn and F5 keys at the same time to turn on Bluetooth.
- If "Found New Hardware Wizard" is opened, click Cancel.
- Locate the folder where the file was downloaded.
- Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- In the "Select Destination Location" window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
- In the "Ready to Install" window, click Install. The file will begin to extract all the necessary files to the folder specified in the step 9.
[Installing files]
- Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is selected and click Finish.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer.
Finally delete the file saved in the step 4.
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
- Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and extract the files.
- In the step 13 of the "Installing files" section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
- At the command line, execute setup.exe with the /qn /ru /ri option.
Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\setup /qn /ru /ri
- Click Start, select Control Panel, click Uninstall Program.
- Select ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software and click Uninstall.
- A pop-up will open with a message, "Are you sure you want to uninstall ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software?". Click Yes. Uninstallation will start.
- When an User Account Control pop-up opens, click Allow to continue uninstallation.
- When a pop-up window appears that request the system restart, click OK, to restart the system.
Note: This software is to add functions over the Microsoft Bluetooth software for Microsoft Windows Vista. So the version number of some of the software may not the same as the version number of this software.
To check the version of the software that is installed on your system, follow the following instructions.
- Click Start, select Control Panel, click Programs and Features.
- Click Organize button, click Layout, then click Details Pane.
- Select ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software.
- On the bottom right of the window, notice the "Product Version". In this release, the software version is 6.2.0.9600.
