Installation instructions

Notes:

  • If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
  • After installation, refer to the Cariblation of Touch Screen section to cariblate the screen.
Manual Install

This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.

Downloading files

  1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear.
  2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance.
  3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
  4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted.

Extracting files

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
  2. Locate the file that was just downloaded and click it using the right mouse button then select Extract All.
  3. The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located.

Installing files

  1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted.
  3. Double-click setup.exe.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. Restart the computer.

Finally delete the file saved in Downloading Files step 2

Unattended Install
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
  1. Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files.
  2. At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -s options.
    Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\SETUP.EXE -s

Calibration of Touch Screen

  1. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  2. Double click Touch Panel Utility.
  3. Click Calibration.
Uninstallation instructions
Manual Uninstall

[Windows Vista]

  1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  3. Under Programs, click Uninstall Programs.
  4. Double-click MultiTouch Driver.
  5. Click Continue, click Remove, and then follow the instructions.
  6. Restart the computer.

[Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005]

  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start and select Control Panel.
  3. Click Add or Remove programs.
  4. Click MultiTouch Driver.
  5. Click Change/Remove.
  6. Click Remove, then follow the instructions.
  7. Restart the computer.

Determining which version is installed

[Windows Vista]

Driver:

  1. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  2. Click System and Maintenance, then click System.
  3. From the left pane, click Device Manager.
  4. Click "+" at Human Interface Devices.
  5. Double-click each of the following devices.
    • For ThinkPad MultiTouch
      • Touch Panel Driver
      • Wacom Penabled Dual Touch
    • For ThinkPad Enhanced Multitouch
      • Virtual Touch Driver
      • WACOM Virtual Hid Driver
      • WACOM Two Fingure Touch
  6. Click the Driver tab. The driver version will be displayed.

[Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005]

Driver:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, then click Performance and Maintenance.
  2. Click System, click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.
  3. Click "+" at Human Interface Devices.
  4. Double-click each of the following devices.
    • For ThinkPad MultiTouch
      • Touch Panel Driver
      • Wacom Penabled Dual Touch
    • For ThinkPad Enhanced Multitouch
      • Virtual Touch Driver
      • WACOM Virtual Hid Driver
      • WACOM Two Fingure Touch
  5. Click the Driver tab. The version and date of the driver are displayed.

Package:

  1. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Add or Remove programs.
  3. Click MultiTouch Driver.
  4. Click Click here for support information. The Version will be displayed.
