Note:
If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.

1. Start Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO.
3. Click Start, then click Run....
4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Click Finish to reboot the system to complete the installation.
   
   

Note:
This is for system administrators' use only.

1. Start Windows.
2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance.
3. Click System, click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.
4. Click the + sign in front of the "Sound, video and game controllers" category.
5. Double-click Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 or Conexant 20561 SmartAudio HD.
6. Click the Driver tab. Then you will see the driver version.
