This package provides the audio driver for Windows NT users.
The audio driver enables or updates the audio function of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad 380, 380D, 380E, 380ED, 380XD and 380Z - ThinkPad 385D, 385ED and 385XD - ThinkPad 560X and 560Z - ThinkPad 600, 600E - ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, 770X, 770Z
Notes: - Windows NT 3.51 is only supported on the 380, 380D, 380E, 385D, 385ED, 770. - See the Additional Information section below for instructions on what's new in this release and how to install this driver. - This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

II. Installation instructions
If there is a previous version installed, follow the uninstall instructions first.
Uninstall
- Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privilege.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Multimedia icon. The Multimedia Properties window will appear.
- Click the Devices tab.
- Double-click Audio Devices. If the following message appears:
There are no devices of this class installed in your system, then proceed to the Installation Instructions below; otherwise continue with step 6.
- Click Audio for CrystalWare device that appears directly below Audio Devices and click the Remove button.
- Restart Windows NT, when prompted.
Install
- Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privilege.
- Extract the Audio Support for Windows NT onto the hard drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Multimedia icon. The Multimedia Properties window will appear.
- Click the Devices tab.
- Click the Add button.
- Select Unlisted or Updated Drivers and click the OK button.
- When prompted for the location of the file, type C:\DRIVERS\WNT\AUDIO and click the OK button.
- Select the audio device CrystalWare(TM) and click the OK button. Windows NT may report that any of the driver files are already present in the system. Select the NEW button to ensure a complete installation.
- If the CrystalWare Configuration Panel appears, click the OK button.
- When installation program prompt you, restart Windows NT to make the change effective.
III. Determining which version is installed
- Using explorer, go to Winnt/system32/drivers and right mouse click "CWBAUDIO.SYS"
- Click Properties.
- Click the Version tab
- Click Product Version
