NOTE: Installing modem version 2.60 (V.90 code version 2.516) of this code eliminates the ThinkPad Advanced Communications Processor (ACP) MIDI support for Windows 95/98 and instead uses Crystal Audio to provide MIDI support for 770/770ED/600. If you wish to use the ACP for MIDI support for these systems, then you should not install the modem V.90 code.

I. Summary of changes
version 2.50

II. Installation instructions
If your driver is version 2.35.xx or 2.36.xx:

1. Extract the new drivers to the hard disk drive. Default path will be \DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\.
2. Run the Setup.exe program located in the folder labeled \DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\OLDMWAVE.
3. When you are prompted with Do you wish to continue your software upgrade now?, click Yes. System will reboot.
4. When you are prompted to give the path name for the new driver, give DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\DISK1.

If your driver is version 2.50.xx or 2.60.xx:

1. Extract the new drivers to the hard disk drive. Default path will be C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\.
2. Click Start, then click Run.
3. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\DISK1\Setup.exe in the Open: field.
4. When you are prompted with Setup has detected existing ThinkPad Modem driver software. You must remove it before installing new driver software, click OK. ThinkPad DSP applet pops up.
5. Select the Utilities tab, and click Remove ThinkPad Modem driver software and follow the instructions. Click No to the restart your machine message.
6. After the driver software has been removed successfully, run the Setup.exe program as directed in steps 2 and 3 above, then continue to step 7.
7. Click Next in the New Hardware Wizard box.
8. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\DISK1 and click OK, or
   click Next depending the operating system, then click Next.
9. Click OK for or click Next depending on the operating system, then click OK and click Finish.
10. Click OK, browse to the folder labeled C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\DISK1, and click OK.
11. Click OK, browse to the folder labeled C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\DISK2, and click OK to finish the driver installation.

NOTE: Click Yes during the install when prompted with the Digital Signature Not Found error.

III. Determining which version is installed

1. Click Start, select Programs, select ThinkPad Modem, then click Modem Quick Test.
2. The version appears as ThinkPad Modem 2.60 Build 39. If the Version is 2.60.36.0 or less, you need to update your ACP modem driver.

NOTE: Update your driver before upgrading to Millennium Edition.
