Audio driver V for Windows 2000, 98SE, and Me - ThinkPad A30/p, T23, X22, X23, X24

The Audio Features enables or updates the audio function for Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows 98SE, and Microsoft Windows Me.

This release supports the following ThinkPad systems:
- ThinkPad A30, A30p
- ThinkPad T23
- ThinkPad X22, X23, X24

Note: This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

I. Summary of changes
Version 5.12.01.4032.1112
  • (Fix) Driver can be uninstalled in Windows 2000 User Mode
  • (New) Added support for ThinkPad X23, X24

II. Installation instructions
  1. Logged on to the system (In case of Windows 2000, as an administrator)
  2. Click Start, then click Run..
  3. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\CRYSETUP.EXE -S to install the audio driver. Click the OK button to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. The installation will be completed without any notification in about 1 minute.
  4. Restart the system for the changes to be applied to the system.

Note: The Windows Operating System CD, Service Pack CD, or its equivalent image might be required during installation, depending on your system environment.

III. Determining which version is installed
Windows 2000
  1. Right-click My Computer, click Manage, click Device Manager, then click Sound, Video and game controllers.
  2. Confirm the Crystal devices: Crystal WDM Audio Codec.
  3. Right-click Crystal WDM Audio Codec.
  4. Select Properties.
  5. Select Driver tab.
  6. Click Driver details. Check File version.

Windows 98SE/Me
  1. Right-click My Computer, click Properties, click Device Manager, then click Sound, Video and game controllers.
  2. Confirm the Crystal devices: Crystal WDM Audio Codec.
  3. Right-click the Crystal WDM Audio Codec and select Properties.
  4. Select Driver tab, then click Driver File details. Check File version.
