II. Installation instructions

1. Start Windows XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
4. Click the Performance and Maintenance icon.
5. Click the System icon.
6. Click the Hardware tab.
7. Click the Device Manager button.
8. Click the + mark of Network Adapters to expand this section.
9. Double-click the Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100).
10. Click the Driver tab.
11. Click the Update Driver button.
12. Select Install from a list or specific location(Advanced).
13. Click Next.
14. Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
15. Click Next.
16. Click the Have Disk button.
17. Specify the directory name with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2 in Copy manufacturer's files from:, and click OK.
18. Click Next.
19. Click the Finish button when the installation completes.

III. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows XP.
2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
3. Click the Performance and Maintenance.
4. Click the System icon.
5. Click the Hardware tab.
6. Click the Device Manager button.
7. Expand the Network adapters section.
8. Select Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100).
9. Right-click Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter(10/100) and select Properties.
10. Click the Driver tab. The File version will be displayed.
