I. Summary of changes
Version 3.1.97
(New) Initial release - support for ThinkPad R31.
Version 3.1.97
(New) Change homologation parameters for Malaysia.
NOTE: This release is to support modem use in Malaysia. No driver functionality change was done, the driver version number did not change at this time. If you do not use modem in Malaysia, you do not need to update the driver.

II. Installation instructions
NOTE: If the audio driver has not been installed on the system, install the audio driver prior to the modem driver.

1. Start Windows XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start and then click Run.
4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WXP\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click OK.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Restart the system for the driver to take effect.

III. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows XP.
2. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
3. Click Performance and Maintenance.
4. Click the System icon.
5. Click the Hardware tab.
6. Click the Device Manager button.
7. Expand the Modem section.
8. Select Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR.
9. Right-click Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR, and select Properties.
10. Click the Driver tab. The version number will be displayed.
