II. Installation instructions

1. Start Windows.
2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
3. Click Start, then click Run.
4. Type C:\DRIVERS\W98\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click the OK button.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Reboot the system when prompt in order to complete the \ installation.

Uninstall Instructions

1. Start Windows.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
4. Click SoundMAX x86 VM General MIDI Server and then click Add/Remove. (A dialog box appears.)
5. Click OK three times and reboot the system to fully uninstall the drivers.

III. Determining which version is installed

1. Start Windows.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click the System icon.
4. Click the Device Manager tab.
5. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
6. Select SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio.
7. Right-click SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio, and select Properties.
8. Click the Driver tab.
9. Click Driver File Details.
10. Select C:\windows\system\smw95.vxd, to display the version number. (Confirm the last 4 digits are 0624)
