I. Summary of changes

  • (New) Support ThinkPad R32.

  • (Fix) Fix connectivity issue in Italy.

II. Installation instructions
Maual install

  1. Start Windows.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, then click Run.
  4. In the Run dialog window, specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Restart the system for the driver to be effective.

Maual uninstall

  1. Start Windows.
  2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs icon in the Control Panel.
  4. Select Agere Systems AC'97 Modem.
  5. Click Add/Remove.
  6. Click Yes in the confirmation window.
  7. When asked to restart the system, click Yes.

If you do not remove the modem Hardware, Windows will redetect the modem on the next boot.

Unattended Install
This is for system administrators' use only.

  1. Start Windows 98.
  2. Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive. (Assume the location of extracted files is C:\Drivers\W98\Modem)
  3. Click Start, then click Run.
  4. Type C:\Drivers\W98\Modem\Setup.EXE -S, then click OK.

III. Determining which version is installed

  1. Start Windows 98.
  2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-Click Modems.
  4. Click Diagnostics.
  5. Select COM port with the name Agere Systems AC'97 Modem.
  6. Click More Info.
  7. Check Command | Response window to check the result of ATI3. The version of the driver installed is displayed.
