Keyboard removal and installation - ThinkPad X30, X31, X32

Other hardware installation instructions:

1. Remove the battery and the screws labeled 1 in the following picture.
   
   
   
   
   
2. Open the keyboard slightly in the direction of the arrow labeled 4
   
   
   
   
3. Draw the keyboard a little in the direction of the arrow labeled 5, and then detach the connector 6.
   
   
   
   

1. Attach the connector.
2. Make sure that the keyboard edges, shown in the figure as (A) and (B), are under the frame.
   
   
   
   
3. Press the keys indicated by arrows to latch the keyboard firmly in place.
   
   
   
   
4. To make sure that the front side of the keyboard is housed firmly, gently press the keys with your thumbs and try to slide the keyboard toward you.
   
   
   
   
5. Secure the keyboard by tightening the screws from the bottom side of the computer.
