Firmware update for Bluetooth Daughter Card - ThinkPad A30p, A31p, T30, X23, X24, X30

This package provides firmware for Bluetooth Daughter Card (BDC). The firmware for BDC enables or updates the Bluetooth functions of the following ThinkPad computers integrated with Bluetooth Daughter Card (IBM Integrated Bluetooth).

This release supports the following systems' Bluetooth models:

- ThinkPad A30p(*1)
- ThinkPad A31p
- ThinkPad T30(*2)
- ThinkPad X23, X24
- ThinkPad X30(*3)

Note:
- *1: Windows XP is not supported.
- *2: Only the following ThinkPad T30 models support Windows Me, other ThinkPad T30 models do not support Windows Me. 2366/2367-x1x, x2x, x3x, x4x, x5x, A6x and A7x except for M1x, M2x, M3x, M4x and M5x.
- *3: Windows Me is not supported.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

II. Installation instructions
Note: For Microsoft XP users, this firmware update needs to be done before installing Windows XP Service Pack 1. If it is already installed, uninstall Windows XP Service Pack 1 and then update the firmware.
  1. Bluetooth Software for Bluetooth Daughter Card (BDC) needs to be installed before updating the firmware for BDC.
  2. Unzip this package to a temporary folder.
  3. Close all application programs currently running.
  4. Power on the BDC by pressing Bluetooth power switch if the Bluetooth LED is off.
  5. Execute C:\Program Files\IBM\Bluetooth Software\bin\BTDFUAPP.EXE by clicking Start then click Run and type the full path to btdfuapp.exe or by clicking Browse and select btdfuapp.exe. The default location of btdfuapp.exe is C:\Program Files\IBM\Bluetooth Software\bin\BTDFUAPP.EXE. If other folder is selected in the BDC software installation, please point to that location.
  6. Bluetooth Device Firmware Upgrade dialog box will appear. Click Browse button and select the following firmware file unzipped. ITSE_00003_07_IBM_BDC_Firmware128_Rev310.dfu
  7. Click the Start button. Firmware download (update) will start. It takes about one minute. If Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears, complete the installation by selecting C:\Program Files\IBM\Bluetooth Software\bin for Firmware upgrade device driver. Please do not cancel the firmware update while it is progressing.
  8. When the update completes, Device Firmware Upgrade Complete window appears. Press OK button and then Exit button to close the Bluetooth Device Firmware Upgrade.

III. Determining which version is installed
To check the version of the firmware of BDC integrated into your ThinkPad, follow the instructions below:
  1. Power on the BDC by pressing Bluetooth power switch.
  2. Open Control Panel, then Bluetooth Configuration.
  3. Click the Hardware tab. The firmware revision is shown as follows:

    Firmware Revision: Version 310
