Presentation Director allows you to create and edit display schemes that configure display device settings and system settings such as resolution screen savers and Power Management shut off timers.

I. Summary of changes

  • (Fix) The external monitor goes blank when the system is docked.
  • (Fix) The Windows taskbar disappears after switching monitors in high resolution display (i.e. 1280x1024 or 1600x1200).

II. Installation instructions
Note: Make sure that DirectX8 runtime modules have been installed into the system before installing this driver. DirectX8 runtime modules are available from the Microsoft Web site.

Install
  1. Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract the video drivers onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start and then click Run.
  4. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\W2K\DISPLAY\SETUP.EXE. Click the OK button to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
  5. At the Welcome window, click Next.
  6. At the Software License Agreement window, if you agree, click Yes. This will start the installation process.
  7. At the Setup Complete window, put a check mark in Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and click Finish.
  8. Restart the system.
Unattended install
Note: This is for system administrators' use only to install some drivers on many systems at the same time.
  1. Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract the video drivers to the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, then click Run.
  4. In the Run dialog window, type:
    • C:\DRIVERS\W2K\DISPLAY\SETUP.EXE /K (without reboot)
    • C:\DRIVERS\W2K\DISPLAY\SETUP.EXE /K /B (with reboot)
      Note: If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
III. Determining which version is installed
  1. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Display icon.
  3. Select the Settings tab.
  4. Click the Advance button.
  5. Select the Option tab. The build number contains the version information.
