This package provides the 3Com modem drivers for the 10/100 Ethernet Mini PCI Adapter with 56k Modem (Mini PCI Combo) for Microsoft Windows NT. The Ethernet drivers are available in a separate package.

I. Summary of changes

II. Installation instructions
  1. With the power removed, insert the modem if necessary.
  2. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privileges.
  3. Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive. This will make two directories:
  • MDMSETUP (Modem setup and application software) and
  • MDMDISK3 (Modem WinNT sys driver).
  1. Click Start, then click Run.
  2. In the Open field, type C:\DRIVERS\WNT\MODEM\MDMSETUP\SETUP.EXE, and click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead.
  3. ClickNext on the Welcome dialog screen.
  4. Click Install on the Modem Setup dialog screen.
  5. Click OK on the MiniPCI Winmodem dialog screen.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete modem installation.
III. Determining which version is installed
  1. Start Windows NT.
  2. Click Start, then Run.
  3. In the Open field, type hypertrm.
  4. Type a name for the connection and click the OK button.
  5. Click Cancel on the Connect To dialog screen.
  6. Type ati7 in HyperTerminal window and hit the Enter key. The Driver Version will be displayed.
    Note: The version for this release is 1.28.039.0076.01.
