This package installs an update to the Microsoft Windows 98SE, Me, and 2000 device driver for the ADI SoundMAX onboard audio that comes preinstalled in your IBM computer. This update requires approximately 3.8MB of space on your hard disk (drive C).

This update package is intended for select IBM Aptiva and IBM NetVista systems that come with ADI SoundMAX onboard audio.

Downloading the update

Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.

Installing the update

Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and Folders.
Type d69z28us.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This will locate the d69z28us.exe file you just downloaded.
Double-click the icon for d69z28us.exe.
Click Next. Read the license agreement.
Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
Click Next.
Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\D69Z28US.EXE.
Click Next.
The setup program will run. Follow the onscreen prompts.
Shutdown and restart your system when the installation is complete.
