Flash BIOS update - PIJT37A - NetVista 2251, 2271, 6058, 6059, 6568, 6569, 6578, 6579, 6599, 6647, 6648, 6649, 6650, 6830, 6831, 6840, 6841

NOTE: It may take some time to gather this system's BIOS version. No information will be collected by IBM. This button will only work with Microsoft Windows 98SE, Me, 2000, and XP.

Downloading the update

1. Click the file link to download the file from the web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.

Installing the update
Follow the instructions provided in the corresponding txt file from above.
pijt37a.txt is for use with the diskette version of this update (pijt37a.exe).
pijz37usa.txt is for use with the CD ISO image version of this update (pijz37usa.exe).
pi1z37usa.txt is for use with the Flash from Operating System version of this update (pi1z37usa.exe).

WARNING: Do not under any circumstance power off or restart the system during the Flash update procedure. Doing so will critically damage your system.

Verifying the update

1. While the system is booting, press F1.
2. Look at model information. The BIOS version will be listed there.

Updating processor patch without updating BIOS
For those customers who need to use the new processor patch file from Intel for the 933MHz / 1 GHz Pentium III without updating their current level of BIOS.

The following steps can be used to write the new processor patch on the old flash update diskette:

1. Obtain the latest level of BIOS update diskette from the IBM Web site.
2. Insert the older level BIOS update diskette in the diskette driver and on a DOS command line type ATTRIB A:0683 -R.
3. Copy the file 0683 from the latest level of BIOS update diskette to the older level's update diskette.
4. Boot the older level's update diskette and follow normal procedures.
