Audio driver IV for Windows 2000 - ThinkPad X20, X21, TransNote

This package provides the audio driver for Microsoft Windows 2000 users. The audio driver enables or updates the audio function of the following ThinkPad computers:
- ThinkPad X20, X21
- ThinkPad TransNote

I. Summary of changes

II. Installation instructions

  1. Start Windows 2000.
  2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  4. Double-click the System Icon. Then click the Hardware tab.
  5. Click the Device Manager tab.
  6. If you find "Crystal Sound Fusion(TM) CS4281 WDM Audio", then the audio driver has already been installed.
    If you find "Multimedia Audio Controller" under the Other Devices, then click the Multimedia Audio Controller to select it and click the Properties button.
  7. Click the Driver tab and then the Update Driver button.
  8. Click Next twice in the Device Driver Update Wizard Window.
  9. Specify the location of the Disk by the path name in the step 2 and click Next.
    If you are asked, specify the location of the Disk in "Copy files from:" list and click OK. The file copy starts.
  10. After the installation of Crystal SoundFusion(TM) CS4281 WDM Audio, click Finish. The system will detect New Hardware.

III. Determining which version is installed

  1. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the System icon.
  3. Click the Device Manager tab.
  4. Click the Sound, video and game controller section.
  5. Select Crystal Sound Fusion(TM) CS4281 WDM Audio and click the Properties button.
  6. Click the Driver tab.
  7. The driver date shows the driver version as follows:
