This package installs an update to the IBM Token Ring PCI device driver for OS-2, Netware, and Microsoft Windows 3.11 that comes preinstalled in your IBM computer.

This document refers to NetVista 6568-xx, 6569-xx, 6578-xx, 6579-xx, 6648-xx, and 6649-xx systems. This update requires approximately 1.00 MB of space on a diskette (drive A).

Downloading the update

  1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
  2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.

 

Extracting the update

  1. Insert a blank 1.44MB floppy diskette into the diskette drive.
  2. Run qc1t00a.exe from the directory in which it was downloaded. The files will extract to the floppy diskette.

 

Installing the update for OS/2

  1. Insert the NDIS drivers diskette into the appropriate drive.
  2. Open an OS/2 Window on your system.
  3. Use your product documentation file, IBMTRP.OS2, to install the driver.
  4. Modify the parameters if needed.
  5. This completes the installation procedure. You must now restart your system.
  6. Check for the following conditions to determine whether the adapter is working correctly and whether installation has been completed successfully:
    1. The device driver files load successfully. There are no error messages.
    2. The adapter LEDs indicate normal operation: green ON, amber OFF.
