Secure Data Disposal (SDD) is a Windows tool used to build IBM PC-DOS bootable floppy diskettes for the purpose of wiping hard disk drives. Each bootable floppy diskette utilizes the Scrub3 DOS executable to facilitate securely disposing of all data on a machine's hard disk drive.

This package installs an updated version of the Secure Data Disposal driver for Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, or 2003 Server.

This package requires approximately 15MB of space on your hard drive.

This version of Secure Data Disposal may also work with other systems that meet the system requirements. However, we have done no testing with these systems and cannot provide support for using Secure Data Disposal on any system other than those listed as a "Supported system".

System requirements for Secure Data Disposal Program
  • Intel x86-compatible processor
  • 3rd Party CD Burning Software (to burn optional bootable ISO image to CD-ROM)
  • 32MB RAM
  • Windows 2000 or XP
  • 15MB of available hard drive space
System requirements for DOS tools
  • Intel x86-compatible processor (must be able to run PC-DOS 7.1)
  • 8MB RAM
  • 1.44MB floppy drive or (optional) bootable CD-ROM BIOS support
  • 16-color VGA video
  • hard drive controllers of type: IDE, EIDE, SCSI, or SATA
  • hard drives with Int13 or Interrupt 13 extensions BIOS support
  • Windows 2000 or XP (to create DOS bootable diskette)
Installation instructions
Downloading the update
  1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
  2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.
Installing the update
  1. Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and folders.
  2. Type sdd_setup.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This will locate the file you just downloaded.
  3. Double-click the sdd_setup.exe icon.
  4. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation.
