Video driver (ATI Radeon 200M, X300, X600, FireGL V3200) for Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad R51e, R52 (1846, 1847, 1848, 1849, 1850, 1870), T43/p (26xx), Z60m

Applicable countries and regions
This package installs the software (Video driver) to enable the following video chips:
- ATI MOBILITY FIREGL V3200
- ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300
- ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600
- ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M

The following ThinkPad systems are supported:
- ThinkPad R51e
- ThinkPad R52 (Machine Type : 1846, 1847, 1848, 1849, 1850, 1870) (*1)
- ThinkPad T43, T43p (Machine Type: 26xx (*2)
- ThinkPad Z60m (ATI video models only)

Notes:
- *1 Other Machine Types of the ThinkPad R52 family are not supported. Please get the correct package for them. A link is provided below.
- *2 Machine Types 18xx of ThinkPad T43 family are not supported. Please get the correct package for them. A link is provided below.
- Update WinDVD software with version 5.0-B11.295 or higher.
- This driver package requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. This version installs it if not installed into your system.

  • [Important] Note: For Windows 2000 users, use the version 8.383.1.1.3-070621a2-051036C.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where unknown EDID data errors were found in the Event Viewer every time the computer restarted after installing the display driver version 8.383.1.1.3-070621a2-051036C.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where the mouse cursor moved slowly when the computer and USB mouse were attached to the Docking Station.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where the screen rotation function did not work on the external display on Windows XP SP3.

Installation instructions

Manual Install

This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. Downloading files

  1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear.
  2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance.
  3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
  4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted.

Extracting files

  1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
  2. Locate the file that was just downloaded and click it using the right mouse button then select Extract All.
  3. The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located.

Installing files

  1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted.
  3. Double-click SETUP file.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. At the Select Components screen, click Express.
  6. At the Setup Complete screen, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
  7. Click Finish to reboot the system and complete the installation.

Unattended install
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
  • Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files.
  • At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the /K -SMS options. Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\SETUP /K -SMS

Determining which version is installed
  1. Right-click anywhere on an open area of the Windows desktop, select Properties, and then click the Settings tab.
  2. Click the Advanced button.
  3. Select the ATI CATALYST Control Center tab.
  4. Click the ATI CATALYST Control Center button.
  5. Select Information Center in Graphics Settings. The release version will appear under Driver Package Version.

Uninstallation instructions
  1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
  2. Open Control Panel.
  3. Click or Double-click on Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Select ATI - Software Uninstall Utility and click Change/Remove.
  5. Click OK to continue to uninstall.
  6. Click Yes to restart Windows.

Unattended uninstall
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
  • Make sure path to driver package using now.
  • At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -uui option. (For example) [Path where the files were extracted]\SETUP -uui
