Realtek LAN Driver for Windows XP - 3000 C200, N100

Applicable countries and regions
This package provides the LAN driver for Microsoft Windows XP SP2 users. The LAN driver enables or updates the LAN function of Realtek LAN. The following Ethernet device is integrated into your Lenovo 3000 system:

- Realtek RTL8139 PCI Fast Ethernet

This release supports the following systems:

- 3000 C200
- 3000 N100

To determine if you should update the Ethernet driver, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.

To update the Ethernet driver, refer to the "Installation Instructions" section.

Installation Instructions
  1. Start Microsft Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract this package by double-clicking the downloaded file.
    The default extract location is C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\ETHRTK
  3. Click Start, then click run.
  4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name (ex: C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\ETHRTK) where you extracted the package in step 2 above, and click OK.
  5. The device driver wizard will be launched.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Finish.

Unattended install
This procedure is intended for system administrator use only.

  1. Start Microsft Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract this package by double-clicking the downloaded file.
    The default extract location is C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\ETHRTK
  3. From a command prompt, navigate to the driver location.
  4. Type "SETUP.EXE -S" and press Enter.

Uninstall

  1. Start Microsft Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  3. In the Control Panel window, click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Select REALTEK Gigabit and Fast Ethernet NIC Driver.
  5. Click Change/Remove.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Finish.

Determining which version is installed
  1. Right-click My Computer and click Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab and click Device Manager.
  3. Click the + sign in front of the Network adapters category.
  4. Double-click Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC.
  5. Click the Driver tab. The driver version will be displayed.
