BIOS Update (Bootable CD) - Lenovo V100

This package is to update the BIOS stored in the computer to fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.

This release supports the following systems:
- Lenovo V100

The following operating systems are supported:
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Microsoft Windows XP (Home Edition and Professional SP2)

Summary of changes

Version 62ETC1WW (1.11)

  • (New) Update microcode to support new Merom CPU
  • (Fix) Fix sometimes Atheros MIMO card will cause system blue screen

  • (Fix) When system boot from LAN, using Ghost 8.0 will cause system hang up.

Update the BIOS

Notes:

Attention:
Do not turn off or suspend the system until the update has been completed. If you turn off or suspend the system while the update is still in progress, the system board may have to be replaced.

  1. Firmly connect the AC adapter to the system.
  2. Shutdown the computer.
  3. Turn on the computer.
  4. While the "Press F1 to enter SETUP, Press F12 to display Boot Menu" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F12 key.
  5. In the Boot Menu, Select the IDE CD: XXXXX, press enter to boot the system with the optical disc.
  6. While the "BIOS Version: 62ETBxWW (1.xx)", "Please press "Y" key to start Flash Process!!" message is displayed on the screen, press the Y key, the Phoenix Phlash16 Utility will begin to update the new BIOS.

    After the update has been completed, the Phoenix Phlash16 utility will show a window with following message: "Flash memory has been successfully programmed", "PRESS ANY KEY TO RESTART THE SYSTEM". If the system does not restart, TURN THE POWER OFF, THEN ON.
Determining which version is installed
Do the following to make sure the BIOS is updated correctly:
  1. Turn on the computer.
  2. While the "Press F1 to enter SETUP, Press F12 to display Boot Menu" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key. The PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
  3. Verify the BIOS Version.
  4. Turn off the computer.

Initializing the BIOS
BIOS Initialization is suggested for some problems. To initialize the BIOS settings:
  1. Turn on the system.
  2. While the "Press F1 to enter SETUP, Press F12 to display Boot Menu" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key. The PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
  3. Press the F9 key to load default configuration.
  4. Select Yes.
  5. Press the F10 key to save default configuration and exit.
  6. Select Yes.

Notes:

  • After initialization you may need to reapply some settings that you had changed previously.
  • After the initialization has been completed, the system restarts automatically.
