Installation instructions
  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Before installing the Realtek HD Audio Driver, click Cancel if Windows detects the Multimedia Audio device.
  3. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
    The default location is C:\DRIVERS\Win\AUDIO
  4. Click Start, then click Run...
  5. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK.
    Example: C:\DRIVERS\Win\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  7. If "Digital Signature Not Found" is displayed, click Yes to continue the installation.
  8. Click Finish to complete the installation and restart the system if necessary.

Unattended Install
Note: This is for system administrators use only.
  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
    The default location is C:\DRIVERS\Win\AUDIO
  3. Click Start, then click Run...
  4. Specify "SETUP.EXE /s" with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK. Example: C:\DRIVERS\Win\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE /s
  5. If the message, "Digital Signature Not Found" appears, click OK to continue installing.
  6. If necessary, restart the system.

Uninstallation
  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  3. Click Add/Remove Programs.
  4. Select Realtek HD Audio Drivers, then click Change/Remove.
  5. Click Next to finish the uninstallation.
  6. Click Finish to complete the uninstallation and restart the system.
