This package provides the Audio driver for: - Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit - Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit
This package enables or updates the audio function of the following systems:

- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
The default location is C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\AUDIO.
- Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click Run...
- Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE
- Follow the install instructions.
- Click Finish and restart the system.
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
In step 5. of the Installation procedure type C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE -S -SMS in the Open box and click OK.
- Start Windows Vista and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator.
- Click Start, go to Control Panel, then click Programs.
- Under Programs and Features, click Uninstall a program.
- Right-click SoundMAX and click Uninstall.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- System will ask user to reboot, choose Yes, I want to reboot my computer now. Then reboot the system to fully uninstall the drivers.
- Start Windows.
- Click Start, go to Control Panel, choose Classic View.
- Double-click System.
- At the Left pane, look for Device Manager.
- Click Device Manager.
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
- Select SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio.
- Right-click SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio, and select Properties.
- Click the Driver tab. Version along with other information can be seen.
- Click Driver Details.
- Select C:\winnt\system32\drivers\ADIHDAud.sys, to display more information.
