This package installs the software; Ricoh Multi Card Reader driver (formerly known as Ricoh 4-in-1 Media Card Reader Driver) to enable the following devices:
- Ricoh Multi Card Reader

The Ricoh Multi Card Reader driver enables or updates the card reader functions of the following ThinkPad computers integrated with the Ricoh Multi Card Reader:
- ThinkPad R400, R500
- ThinkPad R61 (Types: 7732, 7733, 7734, 7735, 7736, 7737, 7738, 7742, 7743, 7744, 7751, 7753, 7754, 7755, 8914, 8918, 8919, 8920, 8927, 8928, 8929, 8930, 8932, 8933, 8934, 8935, 8936, 8937)
- ThinkPad R61i (Types: 7732, 7742, 8918, 8932)
- ThinkPad T61, T61p
- ThinkPad T400, T500
- ThinkPad W500, W700, W700ds
- ThinkPad Z60m

The following Operating Systems are supported:
- Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and Professional

Summary of changes

Version 3.54.02

  • (New) Added support for 7-in-1 Media Card Reader. In response, the software name was changed from Ricoh 4-in-1 Media Card Reader Driver to Ricoh Multi Card Reader Driver.
  • (New) Added support for ThinkPad W700ds.
  • (New) Added support for Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese installer program.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue that caused Blue Screen on Death with System Enable/ Disable with IO test on Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.1.

  • (Fix) The Memorystick and xD devcies don't work when the system memory exceeds 4GB.

Installation instructions
Notes:
  • If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
Manual install
  1. Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
    The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\4IN1
  3. For Windows Vista, click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click Run...
    For Windows XP, click Start and then click Run...
  4. Click Browse.
  5. Select the folder where the package was extracted in Step 2.
  6. Select SETUP.EXE.
  7. Click Open.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Unattended install
  • Note: This is for system administrators use only.

    Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files.
  • At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -s option.
    Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\SETUP -s

This program can be uninstalled in Program and features of Control Panel.

[Windows XP]
Uninstallation is not supported.

Determining which version is installed
[Windows Vista]
  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Open Uninstall a program.
  3. Find RICOH R5C83x/84x Flash Media Controller Driver Ver.xxx .
    You can determine the version of the driver here.

[Windows XP]

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Open Add or Remove Programs.
  3. Find RICOH R5C83x/84x Flash Media Controller Driver Ver.xxx.
    You can determine the version of the driver here.
