Installation instructions
  1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Extract this package by double-clicking the downloaded file. The default extract location is C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\AUDIO
  3. Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click Run...
  4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK.
    Example: C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\AUDIO\SETUP.EXE
  5. The device driver wizard will be launched. If the message, "An unidentified program wants access to your computer" appears, click Allow to continue installing.
  6. When prompted, click Next.
  7. When prompted to restart your computer, click Yes and then Finish.

Unattended install
This procedure is intended for system administrators use only.
  1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
  3. Specify "SETUP.EXE -s" with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and press Enter.
  4. The device driver will be installed automatically.
    If the message, "Digital Signature Not Found" appears, click OK to continue installing.
  5. Reboot the system to complete the installation.

Uninstalling the driver
  1. Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, then click Programs.
  3. Under Programs and Features, click Uninstall a program.
  4. Right-click Realtek High Definition Audio Driver and select Uninstall.
  5. When prompted, click Yes.
  6. When prompted to restart your computer, click Yes and then Finish.

Determining which version is installed
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Hardware and Sound.
  3. Click Device Manager.
  4. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers category.
  5. Double-click Realtek High Definition Audio.
  6. Click the Driver tab, and the driver version will be displayed.
