Intel WiMax for Windows 7, Vista - ThinkPad |
This package installs the software (WiMAX driver and Utility) to enable the following adapter cards. - Intel Wireless WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350
Supported ThinkPad systems: - L410, L510 - SL300, SL400, SL400c, SL410,SL500, SL500c, SL510 - T400, T400s (*1), T500 - W500, W700(*1), W700ds(*1) - X200, X200s, X200 Tablet(*1), X301
Supported Operating Systems: - Microsoft Windows 7 32-bit, 64-bit - Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit, 64-bit SP1
Note: *1: ThinkPad W700, W700ds support the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Professional edition only. *1: ThinkPad T400s multi-touch models and X200 Tablet do not support Windows 7 Home Basic edition. - If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below. - This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. |

Note:
- UDP port 2948 needs to be opened in the firewall for successful activation and provisioning. Depending on the computer's firewall and security settings, the firewall's settings may need to be changed to allow the required communications.

If you use Access Connections, the following must be installed.
Notes:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Explorer.
[Downloading files]
- Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done,some pop-up windows will appear.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
- Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
[Extracting files]
- Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
- Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
- Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- In the "Select Destination Location" window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
- In the "Ready to Install" window, click Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9.
[Install files]
- Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is checked and click Finish.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer. Finally delete the file saved in the step 4.

Note: This procedure is intended for system administrators only.
- Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and extract the file.
- In the step 11 of the "Installing files" section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
- At the command line, execute Autorun.exe with the -QN option.
Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\Autorun /QN
Note:
- If winlogon.exe error or any problem occurs after uninstalling the software, re-install any version of the software for problem solving.
[Windows 7]
- Start Windows and log on with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Make sure View by Category is selected, and click Uninstall a program.
- Select Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMax Software, and then click Uninstall.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete uninstallation and restart the computer.
[Windows Vista]
- Start Windows and log on with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Make sure Control Panel Home is selected, and click Uninstall a program.
- Select Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMax Software, and then click Uninstall.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete uninstallation and restart the computer.
Or
- Start Windows and log on with administrative privileges.
- Refer to the "Manual Install" section, and download and extract the file.
- In the step 11 of the "Installing files" section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
- At the command line, execute Autorun.exe.

- Select Remove.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete uninstallation and restart the computer.
[Windows 7]
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Make sure View by Category is selected, and click Uninstall a program".
- Select Organize, select Layout, then select Details Pane. The Details Pane will be shown at the bottom of screen.
- Click Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMax Software.
- Check the product version in the Details Pane.
[Windows Vista]
- Click Start, then click Control Panel.
- Make sure Control Panel Home is selected, and click Uninstall a program.
- Select Organize, select Layout, then select Details Pane. The Details Pane will be shown at the bottom of screen.
- Select Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMax Software.
- Check the product version in the Details Pane.
[Windows 7 / Vista]
- Click Start.
- Right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
- At the left pane, click Device Manager.
- Double-click the Network adapters category.
- Double-click Intel® Wireless WiMAX Link 5350.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Check Driver Version.
[Windows 7 / Vista]
- Click Start.
- Right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
- At the left pane, click Device Manager.
- Double-click the Intel® WiMAX adapter category.
- Double-click Intel® WiMAX Link Function Driver.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Check Driver Version.
The following versions have been released to date. Access Connections for each of those versions are also available.
