Getting warranty information for multiple systems
Applicable countries and regions
Don't have multiple systems? Look up the warranty for a single system here.

The multiple warranty tool is a new feature Lenovo is offering for our customers who support multiple systems. It allows you to get the warranty status of multiple systems at one time and provide them in a convenient HTML page.

Using the multiple warranty tool

Note:
  • Disable any pop-up blocker you may have active on your system, before clicking the link below.
  • This tool can only be run from the web browser, and works best with Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.
  • Close any download managers you may have installed on your system.
  • Some firewall softwares may give you a warning message.
  • When prompted, click on "Run" instead of "Save" or "Download" in the web browser.
  1. Create the input file.
    mwt.jpeg
The input file is a text-only file in comma-separated value (CSV) format containing the machine type and serial number (both are required) for each system. You can also include the model number and comments if you wish (these are optional). Comments should be less than 50 characters. The layout should be as follows:

2647,78abcde (machine type and serial number required)
86474AX or 8647-4AX,78abcde,lab system (model number in either format and comment optional)
    ....
Note: Ensure that there are no trailing whitespaces or newline characters in the input file, else the tool will return an error.

  2. Click the following link to run the tool:

Note: A launcher window will display briefly as this tool loads.

  3. Choose an input file you created.

  4. Select the sorting option for your report.
The report can be sorted by the following methods:
    • Machine type model - Results are sorted first by machine type model then by warranty status.
    • Warranty - Results are sorted by warranty status only.

  5. Select the warranty expiration setting from the drop-down list.
This setting is used by the tool to highlight products approaching end of warranty. Your options are 30, 60, 90, or 120 days. The default setting is 60 days.

  6. Enter the report title (optional).
This field allows you specify a title for the report that will be generated by the tool. The default is "Warranty information." Using your own title may be helpful if you are creating multiple reports. View example of report.

  7. Enter the filename for a CSV output file (optional).
This field allows you to generate the report in CSV format as well as in HTML. A sample CSV output file is displayed below. You only need to enter the filename as the utility will automatically add the .csv file extension.

    8668-465,78xxxx,text,Warranty 01/12/2004, ServicePac 03/20/2005,
