This package provides the Modem driver for Microsoft Windows 95/98 users.
The Modem driver enables or updates the modem function of ThinkPad AL Modem or Intel PRO/100 SP Mobile combo adapter of the following ThinkPad computers:
- ThinkPad 600X * - ThinkPad A20m, A20p - ThinkPad A21m, A21p, A21e - ThinkPad A22m, A22p, A22e - ThinkPad A30, A30p - ThinkPad A31, A31p - ThinkPad T20, T21, T22, T23 - ThinkPad X20, X21, X22, X23, X24 - ThinkPad TransNote **

I. Summary of changes
Version 8.22
- (Fix) Fix a connectivity issue in certain telephone line in India.
- (Fix) Fix the system freeze issue with F-Secure Anti-Virus.

II. Installation instructions
Install
- Start Microsoft Windows 95/98
- Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive.
- Click Start and then click Run.
- In the Run dialog window, specify C:\DRIVERS\MDMLUC\SETUP.EXE and click OK. If you extracted the files to a different location, then specify that location instead.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Restart the system for the driver to be effective..
Unattended install
NOTE: This is for system administrators' use only.
- Start Windows 95 or Windows 98.
- Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, then click Run.
- Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MDMLUC\SETUP.EXE -S, then click OK.
III. Uninstallation instructions
NOTE: If you do not remove the modem hardware, then Windows will detect the modem on the next boot.
- Start Windows.
- Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Control Panel.
- Select Lucent Win Modem.
- Click the Add/Remove button.
- Click the Yes button in the confirmation window.
- When asked to restart the system, click the Yes button.
IV. Determining which version is installed
- Start Windows 95/98
- Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Modems.
- Click the Diagnostics tab.
- Select the COM port with the name Lucent Win Modem.
- Click More Info.
- Check Command | Response window to check the result of ATI3. The version of the driver installed is displayed.
