UltraNav driver for Windows XP, 2000 - ThinkPad |
This package provides the software support for the ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device for Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP Home Edition and Professional.
This release supports the following ThinkPad systems with UltraNav: - ThinkPad R40, R50, R50p, R51, R52 - ThinkPad R60, R61 (Types: 7732, 7733, 7734, 7735, 7736, 7737, 7738, 7742, 7743, 7744, 7751, 7753, 7754, 7755, 8942, 8943, 8944, 8945, 8947, 8948, 8949) - ThinkPad R61i (Types: 7732, 7742, 8943) - ThinkPad R400 - ThinkPad T30 (*1), T40, T40p, T41, T41p, T42, T42p, T43, T43p (*1) - ThinkPad T60, T60p, T61, T61p - ThinkPad T400, T500 - ThinkPad W500, W700, W700ds - ThinkPad Z60m, Z60t, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t

Version 11.1.21.2 (Certified)
- (New) Support for ThinkPad W700ds (added).
- --- Disabled (Unchecked) the default setting of "Enable coasting".

Notes:
- The TrackPoint driver does not need to be installed on the UltraNav models.
Notes:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.
- Before update, uninstallation of current driver is recommended. Refer to the Uninstallation Instructions section.
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
Downloading files
- Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear.
- In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance.
- Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.
- After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted.
Extracting files
- Open Windows Explorer and locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
- Locate the file that was just downloaded and click it using the right mouse button then select Extract All.
- The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located.
Installing files
- Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
- Open Windows Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted.
- Double-click SETUP file.
- Click Open.
- Click OK.
- Select a language when Choose Setup Language popup panel appears, then click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish and restart the system.
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
- Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the files.
- At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -s -SMS options.
Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\SETUP.EXE -s -SMS
[Windows XP]
- Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
- For Windows XP with Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Otherwise, click Start and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
- Select IBM ThinkPad UltraNav Driver or ThinkPad UltraNav Driver.
- Click Change/Remove.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Restart the system.
[Windows 2000]
- Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Select IBM ThinkPad UltraNav Driver or ThinkPad UltraNav Driver.
- Click Change/Remove.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Restart the system.
- Start Windows XP.
- For Windows XP with Classic Start menu, click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Otherwise, click Start and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Mouse icon.
- Click the Hardware tab on Mouse Properties.
- Click the Properties button.
- Click the Driver tab on IBM ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device Properties or ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device Properties.
- Version information is shown in the Driver Version: section.
- Start Windows 2000.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Mouse icon.
- Click the Hardware tab on Mouse Properties.
- Click the Properties button.
- Click the Driver tab on IBM ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device Properties or ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device Properties.
- Version information is shown in the Driver Version: section.
