- Used to connect a DVI-D digital monitor or VGA analog monitor to a ThinkPad, ThinkCentre, ThinkPad Dock or graphics card which has a DisplayPort connector. Compatibility is listed below.
- Cannot be used to connect a DisplayPort monitor to a ThinkPad, ThinkCentre, ThinkPad Dock or graphics card which has a DVI-I monitor connector
- DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI-D Monitor Cable (45J7915) does not support attachment of a DVI-to-VGA Monitor Adapter. This cable is DVI-D that supports digital-only monitors.

- The DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI-D Monitor Cable does not support attachment of a DVI-to-VGA Monitor Adapter. It is a DVI-D that supports digital monitors. Analog monitors cannot be attached using a DVI-to-VGA Monitor Adapter.
- These DisplayPort monitor cables cannot be used to connect a DisplayPort monitor to a ThinkPad, ThinkCentre, ThinkPad Dock or graphics card which has a DVI-I monitor connector.
